K-DRAMA REVIEW : REPLY 1997 / ANSWER ME 1997

Omo omo omo omo …. I just really really really need to write a review on this one. For people who’s been reading my blog post, they probably know that I’m so into Korean Drama, but due to my work, I always watch them in a hurry ( meaning I fast forward them), so this one particular drama, got me hooked, without having me fast forwarding them, and its called  Replay 1997 or Answer Me 1997.

Here is my review.

The Plot
Reply 1997 (Hangul: 응답하라 1997; RR: Eungdabhara 1997; also known as Answer Me 1997) is a 2012 South Korean television series that centers on the lives of five friends in Busan, as the timeline moves back and forth between their past as 18-year-old high schoolers in 1997 and their present as 33-year-olds at their high school reunion dinner in 2012, where one couple will announce that they're getting married. The coming-of-age drama also examines the extreme fan culture that emerged in the 1990s when first generation idol groups such as H.O.T. and Sechs Kies took center stage andK-pop was just blossoming.[2][3][4]
It originally aired live on cable channel tvN in 16 episodes (14 30-minute episodes aired back-to-back over a period of 7 weeks,[5] with the last 2 episodes aired separately and lasting 1 hour each due to the amount of material the staff didn't want to edit out[6]). But due to its popularity, the 15th and 16th episodes were also aired simultaneously on Mnet, OCN, O'live, Ongamenet and OnStyle. The last episode recorded the highest ratings at the time for a Korean cable drama,[7] and the series has garnered praise from audiences and critics for being well-researched, refreshing, genuine, and full of humor and heart.

Main cast [edit]

·         Jung Eun-ji as Sung Shi-won - She's the ultimate fangirl who lives for boyband H.O.T.. Shi-won is last place in her class and has her head firmly in the clouds (when her exasperated father asks what she's going to be when she grows up, her totally heartfelt answer: "I'm going to be Tony oppa's wife!"), but she's also forthright and sassy.[9][10][11][12]
·         Seo In-guk as Yoon Yoon-jae - The boy next door, first in his class and the quiet, brooding type. Yoon-jae grew up with Shi-won all his life and as teenagers, he falls in love with her.[13][14][15][16][17]
·         Hoya as Kang Joon-hee - Yoon-jae's best friend, who suddenly starts to spend a lot of time with Shi-won. Joon-hee is gentle and sweet, loves to dance, and harbors a secret.[18][19][20][21]
·         Shin So-yul as Mo Yoo-jung - Shi-won's best friend. Yoo-jung is known for falling in love at the drop of a hat. Every day it's someone new, whether idols or real boys.[22][23]
·         Eun Ji-won as Do Hak-chan - The army brat who just transferred from Seoul. He's good at sports and has an enviable porn collection, but his one weakness is actual girls.[24][25][26]
·         Lee Shi-un as Bang Sung-jae - The mile-a-minute talker and one-man rumor mill of the group.[27][28]
·         Sung Dong-il as Sung Dong-il - Shi-won's father and a baseball coach of the Busan Seagulls.

·         Lee Il-hwa as Lee Il-hwa - Shi-won's mother and a housewife.
·         Song Jong-ho as Yoon Tae-woong - A teacher at the high school who turns out to be Yoon-jae's brother.
My Review :
I don’t think it’s a 2013 drama, or let alone new, because when I googled, it aired in 2012, I remembered when it first came out, It just really doesn’t interest me at all. Then I happen to watch on youtube about this OST for the drama, and see the comments from the fan, and lots were saying that it was such a great drama, one of the best, and almost 99% of the people saying them. So it started to grow on me.
For those of you the 90’s kids, this drama is just so perfect. I remember in 1997, it was the last year of my high school, ( mind you that I consider it to be great year), and watching this drama, really brings back the memories. One of the main character, is a HOT die hard fan, well, I remember when I collected ll the Backstreet Boy  albums, and AJ is like a wow for me.
This drama is nicely scripted, with lots of comedy scene, and of course the major spice of a drama must have, a love story. It has twist and unexpected ending ( well not really, but it made you uncertain and guessing), it was nicely built, and the chemistry between the cast is terrific, I am now a fan of Seo In Guk and Eun Ji.
I saw Seo in Guk in Love Rain, not really paid attention to him, but here, he transformed to be this cool guy with his first love. I just cant believe that he was that good.

This drama has the ingredients, the script, the cast and the story, just perfectly goes well together. Its been so long since Ive watched a good one, and I am so glad that I watched this.
Totally recommended for those of you enjoying a rom com and a good one that is, its great without being too cheesy, and romantic without being over the top.
Perfect cast  perfect everything, my only regret was why did I doubt on it first time.

AIRPORT REVIEW : Singapore Changi Airport

Completing on my bucket list, which is to travel, I was wondering on should I write my review on airports that I’ve been to. Now I know its not much .. yet, but I have faith that I will travel to those places on my list. So lets start with somewhere near.

Singapore only takes 2 hours to travel from Bali, its near and Air Asia ( one of the cheapest airlines) always has promo ticket every now and then. The latest I went to Singapore was 5 days ago, and got to admit, man, I love this airport.

Fist time you landed in Changi, the first thing that you notice was always on how you get out from the plane. In Jakarta or Bali, you always has to get down from the plane, on stairs, and walk into the airport, but at Changi, everything is being taken care of beautifully. You just need to get our from the plane, and into the plane ram, and voila you’re at the airport. I know I’m being exaggerate, but it’s been so long that I’ve been in an airport like this.

Anyway, once in the airport, the coldness of air conditioner ( AC ), immediately strikes you. The airport is freezing ( or at least that’s how I feel ), its carpeted ( was wondering how much they spend on cleaning), and you are being greeted with duty free shops. Got to tell you tho, if you have tons of money to spend, going to Singapore will be heaven on earth, but me who travels cheap, and having to browse on what to do or to eat in Singapore, and how to get to my hotel, I decided to get local and take MRT.

So I went to the information, which is center at the end of the arrival terminal ( yes near the duty free shop and starbucks, where I try the Ugly Chicken Curry Puff, which taste amazing), and asked on how I get to MRT to the city. I notice that very service center ( like the information or even the public toilet), has a rate me machine, where the passangers can rate their service quality. They explained thoroughly, with smile on their face .

Since I have to wait for my mother ( which came from Jakarta – on different flight), I decided to sit around for a bit, and work ( well.. browsing my facebook that is ), the information lady told me that I should go to the business center, where I can plug on my phone and laptop ( mind you that I was in Terminal 1 – don’t know if that gives you a valuable information – somehow I don’t believe that Singapore has domestic arrival or departure J. Anyway, that business center situation at the center of terminal one, with a food corner and cozy line of plug ins. So I open my laptop and test the wifi ( yes its free ), and it’s fast.

After a while, I decided to get my self a lunch, a laksa mee which didn’t taste good, and a little bit costly ( SGD 8 ), without the drink, because I figured I can go to the toilet and drink from the tap water that is situated there ( OMG, the tap water is cold and taste good too ), and I decided to take a stroll while waiting for my mother. I noticed they have this brochure or some kind of guide book of the airport terminal, what to get and where to get, which I think came handy.

Inside the airport, there are also some entertainment, like the kinectic bulbs and the indoor slide ( incase you wanna try to fall from the 4 storey building, then this is your chance. Overall, I think change airport is great.

Clinique : Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

I have been in love with Clinique’s chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm, and was wondering to try it out for ages. Now that I have a chance for it, I bought ( get ready .. ) not only 1, but 10 of them… yes, I am  now officially broke, but I can’t resist the temptation of having them on my make up box.
Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm offers 16 different colors for you to choose, and yes, they are all great ( at least that’s what I thought). So let’s the review begin.

Details :
Super-nourishing balm is loaded with mango and shea butters. Just what dry, delicate lips need to feel comfortably soft and smooth. Sixteen natural-looking lip tints in all, each with a subtle sheen.

Ingredients :

Doesn't have it on the website but I did remember having them on the brochure on the packaging, I'll find it later.

My Review on the website :

This one is new J, usually when I try to find a product or been using it, I often go to its website and check what they have in store. Since I’ve been working at a startup, where I spend mostly my time checking out websites, I always feel that some website doing a great job for their products and some don’t. So here it goes…

I know that Clinique has lots range of products, from skin care to perfume, but it mostly do Skin Care ( which reminds me that I am trying their anti - aging product and are thinking to make a review in a month, so at least I will give them a subjective review J ), anyway, the website has lots of going ons, lots of words and not enough picture, and the colour base is white ( but I guess because they want to do the selling from the website, so they do white base ). I wish they have more picture and less words, or at least they have enough introduction for a product, but as I scroll down, they have customer review on the product, which also help you to decide on buying.

I still think that a beauty products need to have a beautiful website, but I guess Clinique is sure about their product they feel they don’t have to have a great website? Hhmmm, not sure if I like that confidence.

Overall review, I gave 2 of 5 for the website.

Packaging :

A chubby stick ( rolling my eyes up), beautifully made, and at the end of it, when your stick has shorten, you can roll it, to make it longer again. The cap and the bottom is silver while the center is the colour of the Chubby Stick you are buying.

Texture :

Soft and creamy, when you apply it on your lips, it un-noticeable, but after a minute or two, the colour start to show, and believe me, its BEAUTIFUL. I bought 10 colour, and have tried them on, even the red one feels good on my lips. Love love love the feel of it. Good job Clinique.

How To Apply :

I don’t think you need to moisturize your lips, because the product moisturize your lips too. Just put it on, and if the colour ( ie red) is too much for you, then smudge it with your fingers and problem solves.

Mix and Match :

Its new for me, because I think that each colour has its own beautiful-ness, but then I try to mix a purple with a red ( been into this Korean style where your lips is red in the middle ), and it didn’t disappoint me.
My Lips Situation :
Soft ( hehehehehhe ), a lil bit dry sometimes, but thank God there is no break out.

My Review :

Love love love the product. I can wear it anytime, specially to work, where I’m practicing work day ( I live and work in Bali where you can wear your most casual dress to work, and since I’m into make up, its not being used for such a period of time, and in order for them not to go waste I’m applying them again now at my work day, you’ll understand when you read my post on Working and Living in Bali  ).
The product moisturize my lips, it makes my lip look softer and kissable ( ok so I over exaggerate it), but it does makes it look like so. Hah., It doesn’t feel sticky and that is important.

My Rate :

10/10
